We all know "red rice" is good for health but still we are not taking it regularly because we are used to white rice and its delicious taste. I agree, it is bit hard for us to completely switch over to other type of rice from white rice that quickly. But we can move on gradually.

You can make a schedule for a week, which comprises of red rice, brown rice and white rice. If it hard for you to take red rice for lunch, you can have it as breakfast or dinner. It would be easier for you to cook and highly healthy too. So today i’m going to explain about a simple and easy recipe with red rice, you can add this in your weekly schedule.

Red Rice Dosa Preparation :

Ingredients :

Red Rice - 1/2 Kg
Urad dal - 5 to 7 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Water - As Required
Salt

Step : 1
Wash red rice, urad dal, Fenugreek seeds and soak it in water for 5 hours ( since we have added less quantity of urad dal, we can soak all ingredients together ).

Step:2
Grind soaked ingredients well with enough water .

Step: 3
Mix salt as per need and allow it for fermentation ( At least 7 hours )

Step : 4
Mix the fermented batter well ( You can add some water to make the batter thin) . Thin batter helps us to make crispy dosa.

Note : Since we are preparing batter for dosa i have added lesser amount of urad dal. You can add 1/2 cup of urad dal if you want to make idlies and batter should not be too thin.

I'm sure your kids enjoy eating these red coloured dosa and idlies. Just try it out.
